On January 2, 2015 the New York State Police – Highland BCI arrested 28 year old, Gary Carbone, and 19 year old, Anthony Gooler, both of Newburgh, for Attempted Burglary in the second degree (a class D felony).
Investigation found that Gooler and Carbone participated in the attempted burglary of a residence in the Town of Plattekill. The homeowner was present at the time that her front storm door was forced open and subsequently witnessed the two male suspects flee in a vehicle. Descriptions provided by the homeowner assisted patrols in locating the suspect vehicle a short time later which was found to be occupied by Gooler and Carbone.
Carbone and Gooler were arraigned before Judge Maciocia in the Town of Plattekill Court. Carbone was remanded to the Ulster County Jail on no bail. Gooler was remaned to UCJ in lieu of $10,000 cash / $20,000 bond.
